Arthur Luiz Piza (1928-2017) TC1 2011 Polychrome ceramic signed, dated and numbered 6/8 on the back H. 42 cm W. 39 cm D. 6 cm Brazilian artist, student of Antonio Gomide. He first explored paper collages, then sculpture in a search for space. He uses all kinds of materials, some of them unusual. "I feel close to the Amazonian Indians who see the multicoloured flashes of birds in the tight, almost dark weave of the jungle". Arthur Luis Piza is an artist guided by a "desire for order that never materialises" (Paulo Sérgio Duarte).
