Claude DEBUSSY (1862-1918), composer. Autograph card signed to "Dear Sir". 1 p. in-8 oblong, headed so, address "10 rue Gustave Doré". Framed. Ink slightly faded. Debussy asks to consult the scores of Wagner's Tetralogy, with a view to a "Wagnerian session" organised at the home of Mme Philippe Escudier (Ernest Chausson's mother-in-law), 77 rue de Monceau. In February 1894, Debussy led a series of 10 sessions (Parsifal, Tristan, Les Maîtres chanteurs and fragments of Siegfried) for which he was generously paid. "Would you be so kind as to lend me, for three days, the four scores of R. Wagner's Tetralogy (French lyrics). Thank you very much, Claude Debussy".
