Henri IV and Marie de Médicis after Guillaume Dupré, 1605
Obverse: The two busts are next to each other. Henri IV is in three-quarter view on the right, wearing a very richly decorated suit of armour with a lion's head on his shoulder. His beard covers a short circular burr. The cross of the Order of the Holy Spirit hangs from a cord. A scarf encircles her left shoulder. Mary in profile is standing back. Her hair is up and held by a jewel; a wide lace collar and an embroidered breastplate are visible.
Reverse: incus
Cast bronze, diameter 182 mm. Ref: Mazerolle 643, pl. XXV; TNG II, pl. XX, no. 1; Jones II, 19a. This copy was cast without the legend bearing the title of the King and Queen, and the signature of Guillaume Dupré.
