Die-cut polished steel helmet, helmet-cover, crest, headband with the coat of arms of Paris bearing the insignia of the Legion of Honour awarded to the city of Paris in 1900 and the "Fluctuat Nec Mergitur" ribbon. Brass chinstraps. Headpiece in black basane with 8 wolf teeth, basane on the nape of the neck worn. Mane well furnished and of good length. Very good condition (In his book "Le musée de la Gendarmerie - 1871-1-45", published by SPE BARTHELEMY, author Eric Dagnicourt, a senior officer in the Gendarmerie and curator of the museum at the time, states that this model of headband, on which the coat of arms of the City of Paris is reduced to fit over the Légion d'Honneur awarded to the city on 9 October 1900, was adopted at an unknown date, but probably in 1907).
