MORET de BOURCHENU (Jean-Pierre, marquis de VALBONNAIS): Histoire du Dauphiné et des Princes qui ont porté le nom de Dauphins, particulièrement ceux de la troisième race, descendus des Barons de la Tour-du-Pin (...). Genève, Fabri et Barrillot, 1722-1721. 2 volumes bound into one. 24 by 40 cm. (8)-414 ; (2)-627 pages. Volume 1: one folding table, one folding map, one plate HT; Volume 2: 6 plates HT (complete). Contemporary full speckled calf, 6 ribbed spine, nicely decorated boards, roulette on the edges. Minor superficial defects, small cracks on the lower jaw. Good condition of the binding. Interior in very good condition (barely visible old restoration of a small tear on the map). Well complete with the two genealogical tables (one HT), the large folding map of the Dauphiné drawn by De l'Isle, the engraving of the Tomb of Hubert II and the 6 plates of seals. Very famous and highly esteemed history of the Dauphiné, which was the only work of the Marquis de Valbonnais (1651-1730), and which he wrote blind... Discreet annotations in pencil by a Dauphiné scholar, completing the seals.
