Expert: Mr Stephan PEPE Carl Kauba is an Austrian sculptor born on August 13th 1865 in Vienna, Austria. He is best known for his sculptures representing Native Americans and themes of the American West. His artistic career flourished at a time of growing interest in Western themes, and he was recognised alongside such notable artists as Frederic Remington and Charles Russell for his ability to depict the essence of the American frontier. Kauba's work is characterised by his detailed depictions of Western figures and animals. He was often inspired by tales of the adventures of the Wild West, which he had encountered in his youth. This fascination has led him to collect photographs and historical objects, which have enriched his artistic creations.
