Albert Matignon was a renowned French painter and illustrator. He was born on 11 June 1860 and died on 17 June 1937. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he was influenced by leading artists, including his teacher, Ernest Hébert . Throughout his career, he exhibited frequently at the Salon des Artistes Français and received several awards for his work.
Matignon is renowned for his contributions to the art world, particularly in the field of painting. His work was even entered in the painting competition at the 1932 Summer Olympics, highlighting his importance in the artistic community. He often painted landscapes, notably inspired by the Baie de Somme , where he spent a lot of time.
