NB: This hitherto unpublished and significant painting in Raymond LECOURT's oeuvre was produced around 1925-1926. Kept until now in the collections of a single family in Fécamp, this painting was known, in particular, from several preparatory canvases, which have been sold in recent years and now constitutes the final, completed version. Of these two sailors from Honfleur, one was called Désiré Louver: probably the one smoking a pipe.
