Valence, Marc Aurel, November 1814. Two texts in an in-8 volume, posterior half-chagrin with corners, 5-ribbed spine (binding signed J.-E. Baudrillart). (2) ff, 44 pp, 8 pp. Very rare first edition. Perrossier, Essai de bibliographie romanaise, 177: "This brochure, as can be seen, is the official report on the Austrian occupation, drawn up by the town hall. It is the most interesting and the most complete that has been published on these serious events. The author, Théodore Lambert, was not only a witness to the drama, but also a player in it, and recounts its moving events. He was one of three deputies to the throne from the town of Romans, representing the town's misfortunes to Louis XVIII and asking for royal favours. The address to His Majesty, which he signed with the Count of Chabrière and the Baron of Montélégier, who were sent to Paris with him, concludes the report." A fine copy in a signed binding.
