This review first appeared in 1866, the year the Society was founded. Its founding members were Messrs MONIER DE LA SIZERANNE, senator, member of the General Council - BÉRENGER (de la Drôrne), honorary president of the Court of Cassation, member of the Institute, former peer of France - GIRAUD (Emile), former deputy, former correspondent of the Ministry of Public Education - LONG (Denis), doctor of medicine at Die, corresponding member of the Institute of France.
The aim of the Société d'archéologie, d'histoire et de géographie de la Drôme is to promote archaeological, statistical and historical studies, particularly in and about the Drôme département. It has three main activities: publishing the Revue drômoise, organising conferences (3 to 4 a year) and organising visits and outings.
This collection, which has been patiently built up over 30 years, is perfectly and recently uniformly bound and covers the following years: 1873 to 1876, 1879 to 1882, 1884 to 1886, 1889 to 1894, 1897 to 1926, and 1935 to 1975. The bindings have retained the original bistre covers: this is important as the contents of each issue are given on the back of each upper cover.
