Extraordinary and unique symbolist cabinet on the theme of the vine and bacchanalia
The front is carved with interlacing motifs, nude women, Bacchus, hands and hair. The upper part adorned with bunches of grapes, a bearded Bacchus and a bather.
The lower crosspiece shows three hands, two of which have their thumbs attached.
A very curious inscription engraved on the panel of a door, a posthumous dedication like a cenotaph: "Kneel before the tomb / of a great heart of deep int. / to RM Garrel beyond the ages / Glory to your name, glory to your ... ".
