Louis, comte de DAMAS-CRUX (1735-1814), soldier and politician; he emigrated in 1792, campaigned in the Armée des Princes, became chevalier d'honneur to the duchesse d'Angoulême, whom he followed to Russia, Poland and England; during the Restoration, he was premier gentilhomme de la Chambre to the duc d'Angoulême.
- More than fifty letters and invoices addressed to the Count of Damas-Crux when he was in emigration (in particular to Mittau and Warsaw) + a set of autograph notes (drafts of letters, memoirs, accounts and calculations) in the Count's hand. Staining affecting more or less a good number of documents. Interesting set.
- Item signed by the Duc de BERRY, written in the hand of the Comte de Damas-Crux ("Relevé des sommes que j'ai touchées pour le compte de S.A.R. Monseigneur le Duc de Berry [...]" (from 1787 to 1801). "Räm en Stirie" 1 March 1801. 3 pp. folio. Fading and fading.
- Document signed by Charles-Philippe comte d'ARTOIS (future Charles X), written in the hand of the comte de Damas-Crux ("Relevé des sommes que Monsieur et Madame m'ont fait remettre pour la dépense de la maison de Mgr le duc de Berri". 1 p. folio. Edinburgh, 30 June 1798.
