1818 - MEDAL of the "COMMERCIAL BROKERS of the city of PARIS, TRIBUTE to "A.S.E. MGr LE COMTE ANGLES ( * ) / MINISTRE D'ETAT : PREFET de POLICE". - Obverse: Mercury holding a caduceus and a purse, seated on a parcel, ship's prow in the background, to the right a cock crowing; in the exergue: M.D.XVIII, signature of medal maker Galle. Bronze - 41 mm - 40 grams.
( * ) Jules Jean Baptiste Anglès : born in GRENOBLE on 29 July 1778, died at the Château de Cornillon in Mably / Loire - Intendant in Silesia (1806), in 1814 Minister of Police during the 1st Restoration; he followed Louis XVIII to Ghent during the Hundred Days. Elected deputy for Hautes Alpes on 22 August 1815. Appointed Prefect of Police for Paris on 29 September 1815, a post he left on 18 December 1821 to retire to Mably, where he was elected Mayor.
