White stone mantel, Louis XV, Length lintel 136 cm Total height : 108 cm - A fireback is included depicting an allegory of Justice in the guise of a woman. She is depicted wearing the classic attributes of Justice, namely the sword in her right hand, the scales in her left and a blindfold. The sword symbolises the power of justice, the scales symbolise the supporting and opposing forces in a legal case and finally the blindfold is the symbol of the impartiality of justice. 18th century. Height 82 cm - Width 49 cm - Depth 3 cm
