GRANDE SEMAINE D'AVIATION de ROUEN (76) - 19 au 26 Juin 1910 - CONCOURS POUR L'AFFICHE de la MANIFESTATION - 1910 travelled colour postcard, printed by G. Rolland, illustrator LECA - The design is based on that of the postal propaganda vignette for the event: young woman waving at the aircraft from a pointed opening in the roofs of the cathedral.

LA ROCHELLE (17) - ERINNOPHILIA - COLONIAL EXHIBITION from 31 July to 28 August 1927 - postal propaganda stamp depicting a West Indian woman and her traditional headdress following a drawing by Jean Foucher from La Rochelle - perforated 48 x 33 mm. TWO BANDS of FOUR bottom of sheet stamps with slogan in margin; the left stamp is left imperforate. The 8 stamps are SUP.

CROIX - ROUGE FRANCAISE, ASSOCIATION des DAMES FRANCAISES - travelled postcard of the association's greetings, "the board of directors sends you its best wishes for 1917 and expresses its deep gratitude for the devotion you continue to lavish on our dear wounded". Very fine card by an illustrator from the Lapina publishing house showing a lady nurse standing in profile, with the rear landscape ablaze. Very fine and interesting matching franking, pre-New Year's Day cancellation on stamp no. 146, the first Red Cross stamp (10c red sower with overprint + 5C) - Makes a perfect maximum card.

ORLEANS (45) - CROIX ROUGE FRANCAISE - SOCIETE de SECOURS aux BLESSES MILITAIRES des armées de terre et de mer - Two good unique documents: - franked correspondence postcard from the ORLEANS COMMITTEE, specially illustrated by Joseph Beuzon. Travelled, dated 25 October 1914, a well-cared-for soldier gives news to his parents. On the back, also with letterhead illustrated with the statue of Joan of Arc, BORROW STAMP of the AUXILIARY HOSPITAL of TERRITORY No. 4 ( * ). - card correspondence souvenir personal manufacture of a nurse. On the right is a small photograph, original bromide 41 x 55 mm, of the interior of the chapel of Auxiliary Hospital No. 4 and a very pretty text illuminated in red and gold, perfectly calligraphed: "This humble altar which received so many prayers...or inspired so much devotion...will forever remain for the nurses of Hospital No. 4 the beloved centre of moving and imperishable memories". FRANCE JOURNALS - Cérès 2 centimes red-brown stamp no. 51. ON THE ENTIRE NEWSPAPER "L' ECHO BAYEUSIEN", political and judicial sheet of the city and the district of Bayeux of Friday October 10, 1873. stamp cancelled by the typography during the printing of the newspaper.

FRANCE JOURNALS - Ceres 1 centime bronze stamp no. 50. ON ENTIRE JOURNAL " CHRONIQUE CHARENTAISE ", non political journal, offices in St Jean d' Angely, issue of May 2, 1875. stamp cancelled by the typography at the time of the printing of the newspaper - signed Baudot.

FRENCH GENERAL COLONIES - Black tax stamp, 40 centimes to be collected in the DUVAL type of 1884 imperforated - number Taxe 10, printing on yellowish paper - BLOCK OF SEIZE NSG stamps sheet corner with its margins, corner dated precursor P 3101.

FRENCH GENERAL COLONIES - Tax stamp n° 21 olive, 20 centimes DUVAL type. Imperforate, BLOCK OF TWENTY high sheet stamps with margins, vintage "7" (1907). Mint, slight scattered rust.

19th century - old collection ANCIENS ETATS ALLEMANDS DE HAMBOURG (ville libre de..), and BRUNSWICK - 13 stamps on album sheets mint and cancelled. Particularly noteworthy is No. 1 Hamburg cancelled; all the stamps are fine. Let us also quote n° 9 black on rose margins integral with pieces of adjacent stamps, signed BRUN.

19th century - old GERMAN TOUR & TAXIS collection. NORTHERN STATES - on six sheets, 140 stamps all in fine condition with in particular, for the cancellations, cancellations with different numbers, railway cancellations, date stamps... Many stamps with large margins, even with pieces of adjacent stamps, pairs... Very nice specialised collection made before the war... only beautiful stamps from 1852 to 1867 (n° 1 to 31).

19th century - old GERMAN TOUR & TAXIS collection. SOUTHERN STATES - on six sheets 131 stamps all in beautiful condition with in particular, for the cancellations, various cancellations, pairs etc... only beautiful... (n° 32 to 52).

BENIN French colony, 1892 - VERY RARE BLOCK OF SIX STAMPS. 30c brown Alphée Dubois type of the general colonies in a block of 6 stamps each with a round date stamp, excellent marking COTONOU BENIN 14 june 1892 (see specialized part Yvert tome 2 / 2017 page 86 and take into account the very important surplus value for this block).

GREAT BRITAIN - The first stamp issued in the world on 6 May 1840. in the effigy of Queen Victoria, Number 1 "ONE PENNY BLACK". NINE GOMME, 4 margins.

FRANCE SPECIALITES - STAMP VIGNETTE. - RELIGION. DIEU PROTEGE LA FFRANCE (vignette Yvert n° 822) - Perforated, in red, with in the centre 5c vert sower stamp n° 137 on postcard with date stamp Arradon / Morbihan 13 January 1910.

FRANCE 1907 - COMMEMORATIVE POSTCARD EXHIBITION DU TIMBRE-POSTE FRANCAIS, 6 rue Ménars à Paris, du 5 au 12 juin - vue extérieure du lieu d' exposition. Postage at 5 centimes (Type Blanc 2c + 3c), small format temporary cancellation of 8 June from the special post office for the event.

FRANCE 19th century - SPECIAL OFFICES "FRANCHISES, CONTRESEINGS". KING LOUIS XVIII, letter for the Postmaster General in Meaux - Paris 27 July 1815. Handwritten letter signed by the Marquis d' Herbouville, Director General of the Royal Post Office. Letter concerning "the visit by two gendarmes to Sieur Nicolas Simon, driver of a patache" and the letter found in his possession, and the fact that "he could not have been unaware of the laws prohibiting him from carrying it" (given the monopoly on mail transport granted to the Post Office) - "given that he only had one letter. I invite you to see Mr. Procureur du Roi and ask him to cease his proceedings... on the recto RARE FRANCHISE GRIFFE, in cursive on 2 lines, struck in red: "PAIR DE FFRANCE / DIRECTEUR Gal des POSTES" - (catalogue Rochette/Pothion 1958 n° 2010). THIS MARK IS EXTREMELY RARE "It was only used from 2 October 1815 to 2 November 1816.

FRANCE FIRST ENPIRE - SPECIAL OFFICES FRANCHISES, COUNTERSIGNINGS. VERY RARE POLICE POST MARK " la femme, le mari et l' amant.... " Handwritten letter signed, dated Lyon 26 June 1811 for Montélimar authority. "Reports on the arrest of Joseph Boucher and the woman Rencurel: "the husband of the latter being in Lyon, after some submissions on the part of his wife, had forgiven her and was decided to take her back. All of the belongings seized from the said woman had been given to her husband when, at the moment of leaving, she refused to follow him. Following Mr. Rencurel's request, I had his wife re-arrested and I have just issued a requisition to the Gendarmerie to have her brought before you, etc. I am still temporarily holding Mr. Joseph Boucher; if you deem his presence necessary in Montélimar, I will have him transferred there, etc. Signed: the Commissioner General of Police and Auditor at the Council of State, Baron of the Empire, André Pierre Etienne ABRIAL". mark on front: in a rectangle with rounded ends, cursive letters in black: COMMISSARIAT GENERAL / DE POLICE DE LYON. on the reverse, closing stamp, in black, oval with crowned eagle, legend around the edge ". NOTE / BARON ABRIAL, appointed by the Emperor to Lyon on 12 September 1810, he left his post in March 1813 to become Prefect of Finistère.

AUSTRIAN EMPIRE - Rare collection of six commemorative postal stationery specially issued for the PHILATELIST DAYS, 20-23 August 1909, in KARLSBAD (today Karlovy Vary in Bohemia / Czech Republic). SIX ENTIRE POSTCARDS, stamps bearing the effigy of Emperor Franz Joseph printed directly on the reverse - on the front: various illustrations showing the town in 1909, in particular the thermal baths, exterior and interior views; around the illustrations coloured marble frieze and regional coats of arms from the imperial period. 2 x 3 Heller mauve cards + 2 x 5 Heller cards + 2 x 10 Heller cards, some new, some with Karlsbad day cancellation.

ITALY - WWII - FRANCHISE CARD FOR THE ARMED FORCES, "to be used for Italy and its colonies" - Green card 103 x 145 mm, blue printing with the Savoy coat of arms. New, bearing the signature of the 208th infantry regiment "TARO", COMMANDO company and a quotation from Benito Mussolini: "I say solemnly and without the risk of ever being refuted today, that the responsibility for the war lies exclusively with Great Britain".

WW2 - POLISH FORCES IN EXILE IN LONDON. POLISH MILITARY POST - thirteen (13) franking and propaganda stamps, cancelled with the seal of the POLISH FORCES in G.B., war scenes of Poles engaged in combat with the allied forces (parachutists, aviators, sailors, tankers... legends in Polish and English. These stamps were issued in 1942, those surrounded by a black frame (mourning stamps) were issued in 1943 to pay tribute to General SIKORSKI, leader of the Free Polish Forces and Prime Minister of the Polish Government in exile in Great Britain from 1939 to 1943, who died on 4 July 1943 in the crash of his B 24 plane as it was returning to London from Gibraltar.

WW2 - POLISH LIBERAL FORCES IN EXILE IN LONDON. Commemorative postcard, issue 1944, from the association of Polish philatelists in Great Britain, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first Polish stamp 1919-1944. British 1 penny red stamp effigy of King George VI, large commemorative cancel. Patriotic illustration on the left "the warm reception of the huns in LWOW" Polish town then, today LVIV in Ukraine, conquered after fierce fighting by the Nazis in September 1939. The illustration shows a destroyed Panzer tank amidst the ruins of the town.

2nd World War - FREE POLISH FORCES IN EXILE IN LONDON. Mourning postcard in tribute to General SIKORSKI, leader of the Free Polish Armed Forces and Prime Minister of the Polish Government in exile since 1939, who died when his plane crashed in Gibraltar on 4 July 1943. RARE AFFRANCHISSEMENT: exile stamps from the 1st issue of 1941, 5 Gr no. 1 ruins of the United States embassy in Warsaw and 25 Gr no. 3 demolition of the Mickiewicz monument in 1940. Obliteration: illustrated commemorative stamp 4-VII-1944.

TAULHAC / LE PUY (en Velay) (43) - Lettre par EXPRES à entête de " AU PUY DENTELLES ", Maison E. MANSUY-COUBERT Route de Taulhac. Postage at 7 F 50 (2 x 1 F 50 de Pétain per Bersie + 4 F 50 typo par Houriez) - date stamp le Puy en Velay 23 April 1943.

FRENCH ALGERIA 1959 - Issue of the stamp in memory of Father Charles de FOUCAULD - (n°1191) - Illustrated souvenir cover from the Club Philatélique de Colomb-Béchar - Hexagonal pearled date stamp postal agency "BENI ABBÈS 2 février 1959 - SAOURA".

WORLD WAR II - "FRENCH STATE", VICHY regime. Marshal PETAIN, FRANCHISE of the HEAD OF STATE. Letterhead of the Marshal's Documentation Office in PARIS with official franking stamp of the Head of State's private secretariat + cursive Franchise stamp in blue 85 mm "Le Chef de l'État" + continuous R.B.V. type stamp "UN BON de SOLIDARITÉ NE SE REFUSE PAS" - Date stamp "PARIS 22 / RUE TAITBOUT / 20H / 30 novembre 1943".

FRANCE PAIRE CROIX ROUGE 1961 - Paintings by ROUAULT ( 1323 & 1324 ) - TWO RARE ARTISTIC PRINTS. TWO RARE ARTIST PRINTS, printed in a few copies (usually 5 to 9). Each proof, on pure rag paper, 133 x 125 mm, with dry stamp of the control of the printing of the postage stamps. In the centre of each individual proof is an imperforated stamp, printed in monochrome intaglio. Each proof bears the autograph signature, in pencil, of the engraver Jules Piel.

MAURITANIA 1966, former French colony - Deluxe proof of No. Avion 61 of Géricault's painting "LE RADEAU DE LA MEDUSE" - Stamp shown imperforated in the centre of a 100 x 130 mm sheet - Helio printing by DELRIEU, 250 copies issued.
