LONDON 1770 Gigantic silver dish,GEORGE III period,oval shape with contours and gadrooned rim. The wing is engraved with the arms of the See of London and the Hawleys of Bishop William Hawley who was bishop of London and then archbishop of Canterbury. In this capacity he crowned William IV, then presided over the coronation ceremony of Queen Victoria. The plate is engraved on the back with its rare period weight of 110 oz. English title hallmarks (.925), hallmarks for LONDON 1770 and hallmarks due to master swordsmen Sebastian & James CRESPELL received in 1762. H:42,8 cm, width: 56,4 cm Weight : 3353,4 grammes.
