Stamp of a former owner on the endpapers and the false title. First edition of this major legal text, which appeared in 3 formats on the same date: in-4, in-8 and in-12. The in-4 copies, like the one presented here, are the most precious. The Table which completes this volume is also a first edition. The Civil Code is one of the most important legacies of the Napoleonic reign.
