(Book of Nobles, who wear a dress, i.e. the year, month and day of their birth as well as the year of their marriage. Made in the month of March in the year 1708). 7 by 9.5 cm (8)-200 leaves. Later full black chagrin, 4 ribbed spine, mute binding, gilt edges with chasing. Very good condition. Fine and legible sepia handwriting, with a few additions in black. The manuscript begins with 13 pages of table detailing the 222 families listed and described in the manuscript. The coats of arms of each family are drawn at the bottom of the pages. An engraved bookplate is glued to a flyleaf. A transcription of the signs indicating the colour of the coats of arms was added by hand at a later date. Another bookplate is pasted (late) at the end of the volume, of Piero Barozzi, barone di Spitorino, with his coat of arms. The family and its coat of arms are described on folio 17 of the manuscript.... A unique and rare document...
