MERCEDES 450 SLC 5.0 1979. Serial number: 10702612000345. - Comfort and power. - Family coupé. - Low mileage. Following in the footsteps of the legendary Pagoda was no easy task, and when the R/C 107 generation was launched in 1971, some thought it would never make it. And yet it was so successful that the SL/SLC range was produced for 18 years. Launched with a 3.5-litre V8 engine, and offered at the start of the range with a 2.8-litre in-line six-cylinder, the 107 generation went on to reach for the stars in 1978 with the powerful 240 bhp 5-litre V8, which made its debut in the coupé before being fitted to the entire Mercedes range. Our 450 SLC 5.0 was sold new in Europe. The bodywork is in generally good condition. We didn't notice any perforating corrosion. The blue leather interior is in good original condition, with the exception of the driver's seat back, which could do with being re-tinted. The car is fitted with long-range headlights, an automatic gearbox, Baroque-style aluminium wheels, fender trims and air conditioning (to be recharged). The vehicle is running smoothly. The fuel pump has been changed. The odometer shows only 60,200 original km. The vehicle has its normal registration papers. The MOT is in the process of being passed. The car will have to undergo a general mechanical and safety inspection before being driven again.
