BLETON (Auguste). Lyon Pittoresque. Illustrated with 5 etchings, 20 lithographs and 300 pen-and-ink drawings by Joannes Drevet. Lyon, Bernoux et Cumin, 1896. One large volume in-4, brown half-chagrin, 5-rib spine, gilt head, covers preserved. VIII, 322 pp, 8pp (subscription form as new). Small tear on first cover else a fine copy.
One of 50 contributor's copies (n° XIX), printed for Joannès Drevet on tinted vellum, with his first bookplate "au hénin" [Vial n° 154] .
This copy contains a very rare double suite, printed specially on chine contrecollé (the only suite so encountered) and not mentioned by Vial].
Joannès Drevet has also added 3 original drawings:
"Le Clocher d'Ainay" [back cover, placed after the frontispiece; drawing taken over by the etching, see Vial 111].
"Saint-Georges, février 1895" [page VIII, after the preface, graphite drawing on green canson, not reproduced].
"Carmes Déchaussés", graphite drawing taken up by the etching, see Vial 108, page 304, after the etching of which a rare state printed in bistre].
